The prize runs every two years and is currently OPEN for new submissions until 6 October 2021. It aims not only to celebrate nature writing but provide an inclusive platform for new and emerging nature writers from underrepresented backgrounds. The Nan Shepherd Prize is a competition to find the next voice in nature writing. The creation of the programme has been informed by the Arts CouncilвЂ™s Intercultural Arts Strategy and framed within its current business plan. The Minority Ethnic Artists Mentoring and Residency Programme aims to help individuals at every stage of their career supporting skills development and career pathways, inspiring excellence and increasing opportunities for young and emerging minority ethnic artists and creatives. Applicants may be eligible for awards of up to ВЈ5,000 each. Through this new programme the Arts Council aims to create opportunities for specialized training, research, cultural exchange, networking and learning for individual artists, creative practitioners and arts administrators. As we are a free online magazine we unfortunately cannot pay those who have successful submissions. Please put your name and short bio in the body of your submission email otherwise it may accidentally end up in the Spam folder. Video submissions should have a link to Youtube etc. We prefer submissions to be made in Word (or similar) format. We're calling for poetry (up to 3 poems), prose and critical writing, suggestions for interviews etc for our October 2021 issue. The things that donвЂ™t fully fit anywhere else, we want to give them a space. We want your abstract feelings, your bent encounters, your thoughts on anything. The Liminal Review is a literature and arts journal that is looking for the things that are made in the in-between spaces. Looking forward to reading your poetry, prose, and children's writing! Our second call for submissions for 2021 fast approaches! We'll be opening for your GENERAL MANUSCRIPTS on 27th Sept - 3rd Oct. All entrants are considered for publication. Contest finalists are often published in the magazine also, or in the web-exclusive features we offer on our website in prose and poetry, BLAST and Poem of the Week. First-place winners in each category receive $5000, feature publication in our spring issue, and are honored at a gala reading and reception in Columbia, Missouri (pandemic permitting). Smith EditorsвЂ™ Prize competition is now open for submissions in fiction, poetry, and nonfiction.
